A Visit to a Historic Marietta Home
Join us for a self-guided tour at one of the oldest and best preserved houses remaining in the Atlanta area. For the French language learners and speakers in the group, while touring the home, we share conversation en français about the experience and history of the property. Speakers at all levels are welcome to join!

Within these Protected content walls, award-winning interactive exhibits examine the lives of the Root family and their enslaved house servants.
Thoughtful exhibits, touchscreens, and public art help tell the story of the lives of the enslaved individuals who lived and labored at the Root House property prior to emancipation. Recently discovered family papers and new research into public documents are helping to give us a better understanding of the lives of these enslaved individuals.
