A Sunday Afternoon "All Egyptian" in Modena
We shall be together for an event with the flavour of Egypt. Firstly, we visit the Protected content
At 4pm, we have the chance to go to see an exhibition which "for the first time offers the opportunity to see over Protected content previously unseen artifacts on display" which sheds light on Egyptian antiquity with exhibits from the Este collection and on loan from the Egyptian Museum of Turin which is celebrating its 200th anniversary. Amongst the other exhibits on display, there is the large sarcophagus of Menis, a naofara statue and 50 votive bronzes representing gods, goddesses and sacred animals.
Afterwards, at 6pm, we shall move onto the only Egyptian restaurant in town, Trattoria Della Gioia, which is short walking distance away at Via Carteria 80/82. There we'll be able to taste a series of typical Egyptian dishes like falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, kofta, fatteh and koshari accompanied by traditional flat bread. To drink, you can choose between water and the famous tea "Koshary" - or beer if you must!
